$12 Million Gift to Campaign for IIT from Caryl Pucci Rettaliata

In honor of her late husband, John Rettaliata (president of Illinois Tech from 1952-1973), Caryl Pucci Rettaliata made a $12 million gift to Fueling Innovation: The Campaign for IIT.

This commitment has funded extensive renovations that created new collaborative educational and laboratory spaces in John T. Rettaliata Engineering Center (formerly known as Engineering 1 building). Originally constructed during Dr. Rettaliata's tenure as president, it has been home to the Illinois Tech Armour College of Engineering. The project has ensured that the building is equipped to deliver a cutting-edge education for Illinois Tech’s largest undergraduate population: its engineering undergraduates. In addition, the gift fully endowed the John T. Rettaliata Distinguished Professorship of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering, held by Hassan Nagib.
